DIY Carbon Reactor

Just built this tonight. Simple as it gets, basically just a 12 inch long piece of 3 inch PVC, a couple end caps ( one removeable ), a couple nipples one in each end, filters to keep the carbon in, and some carbon. Was thinking we could do these as a real simple DIY at an upcoming meeting. The parts could be supplied at cost and plenty of assistance as needed to get it together.

Here's a pic of the parts

Temp mount in the sump, but could be mounted any where.

and the effluent

Great DIY Dave. A simple yet effective and use the same idea for phosphate and nitrate media as well.

Is this pretty much the DIY we were going to do last year?

Could be good timing to try this since we're setting up a new sump for the 180

Thats pretty much it or atleast how I envisioned it. I think Rob had some other ideas to incorporate as well. Trying to get the ball rolling. Waiting to hear from Rob.
