Reef Builders - The Source for Reef Keeping Information

I was banned for supposed commercial posting.. they neglected to tell me what it was that i posted.. lol they banned me until 10-18-08. They have to be the most asinine, cliquey and They dont like me over there because I have my own forum and i work at a LFS. The only thing i can think that they called "commercial" is that I posted in a vender expirience thread.. the the last post in the thread was "I think i'm going to have to make a trip down to LSOP soon" So i replied like 3-4 weeks later.. " did you happen to make it to the store yet?"

i cannot see how that can be misconstruded into a commercial post.. they suck over there

I'm a paying member too and they wont let me post in the non reef items for sale section.. I have alot of hobbies and get in and out of new ones all the time .. so i usually have something i'm selling .. they said they thought i ran a pawn shop or something so i can't post.. I dont run a pawn shop... nothing even close .. i dont even own a business.. they take away member privies for no good reason.. just to be on thier little reef geek power trips

Very unfortunate you've been temporarily suspended. Hope things can be worked out when all gets cooled down.

i'm not liked over there either 3mrhythm ... i was the one who posted that thread on the whole place being cliquey ... and they all jumped to attack me ..... i was only trying to help lol oh well.... i like this place better anyway .....

very true..... the BRS has it's good points too i'll admit ... just not a huge fan ;)

Agreed Scott. If I don't like something I just don't use it. They lose a member and other club gain a member.

the part that is annoying is how the neglect to inform whoever they decide to ban.. and dont have the courtesy to email the person .. or give any warning.. i just felt like getting on the soap box lol.. BRS is a nice club.. as a whole...they are the local reef giant club... just the BOD are a little asinine

i think to mention it in a professional way isnt too bad. something like the "vendor experiences" section there. if you say "i went to x lfs today and there was nobody to help me." i dont see that as being a negative thing, just trying to point out how the lfs could make more sales or just make a customer happier. i agree that "bashing" isnt appropriate and should be avoided if at all possible.

to the topic at hand, i feel the same way on the afore mentioned boards. i never really felt real welcome thereand so i typically avoid posting. i "lurk" there from time to time but never have anything to say. just my .02

hey i got banned too.(picked fun at another member)! dont sweat it man. people are jerks and they will prove it time and time again! I dont even go on there anymore!

Closed this one before it goes too far. Bashing other clubs/forums in open forum for whatever reason isnt cool. It happens, but I hope that other boards would handle this similarly if it were us being bashed.
