new tank

We are getting a 210 gallon tank, we also have a 75, and a 55 gallon tank that are running off of 1 sump. would it be best to run the 210 off its own sump or put them all together?

Thanks Pete & Chantal

I have a similar setup and run them all off the same sump. Just make sure you have enough headroom in the sump so it doesnt overflow when the pumps are off. There are pluses and minuses to having all the tanks together and seperate. Just have to weigh them against eachother and decide whats best for you.

Dont forget to start a build thread when you begin the set up. It should be really fun for everyone to see how you get it done.

Pluses to one sump are obvious. The minus part kicks in when you have just one sump. =( You get ich or any other illness to the tank, and it is harder than Chinese math to cure. Where 2 sumps you could run medication in one tank, and not kill all you inverts. I like having one sump.

Get a big old 100 plus farm feeder plastic sump. You will love it!!

Ohhhh and we need plenty of pics of this project!!!!!

Leave the glass cover off the tank. This will allow for gas exchange in the tank system. Plus it will help the light to penetrate the tank. What happens is salt creep builds up on the glass, and light becomes restricted.

Glad you got the tank!!!

Where will the sump be located, and how much room do you have for it?
