Reef Builders - The Source for Reef Keeping Information

I'd like to arrange something with our sponser Plymouth Pets this month. I've already had some conversation with Jay at PP about this and what we need to do is provide a date and some direction.

I was thinking we meet in Plymouth for lunch, and then head on over to PP for something.

So whats everyone's pleasure? We could organize some sort of coral/colony draft. I'm open to suggestions.

I'll direct Plymouth Pets to this discussion so that they can help and maybe they can provide some direction as well.

i think a draft would be cool. i think a mix of softies and sps would be good though, as some of us, myself included, arent able to keep sps.

theres a pizza place right in the same plaza as plymouth pet so we could do a lunch there if we have a bunch of people who like pizza and sandwiches. typical pizza place fare....

There's a Pizza, a small seafood almost next door to the shop, and closer to the highway, there's a larger steakhouse.

But anyway, as for "activities", how about a "lunch meeting" more than anything and then head over to the Pet Shop and have them show us around their shop and do a small draft.

ok, at the sake of sounding like a noob.... what the heck is a draft? can someone fill in this noob please .... sorry .... lol

ever heard of the football or baseball draft??? its kinda like that. basically we get a bunch of frags or clams or whatever the draft is for. then we each get a "pick" and we all take turns until all the items have been "drafted". of course this costs money but its fun and you get to choose any item thats left when its your turn. obviously the hope is for one of the first couple of picks but everyone usually ends up with nice stuff anyways. hope this explains it for you.

hey everyone... don't know how we could work this in... but i received my Hanna PO4 Photometer and my Apogee PAR meter .... don't know what we could do with the PAR meter at the meeting but if folks want they could bring samples from their tanks and they could learn how to test and use the Photometer?

Does that sound useful or fun for anyone ?
