A shots of the 180

It's been awhile so I decided to break out the camera and take a few pic of the tank tonight. Here's one of the whole tank. Eventually there will be a hood. Emphasis on the eventually. I'm playing with some high power LED's at work like the ones in the Solaris lights. If things work out I'll try a fixture over a frag tank. It that works then I'll build the larger setup for the main tank. There will also be a little bit more rock as well. Not much where I want lots of room for coral growth but some.

As you can see the rank is coming along. We finally got brave and moved the anemone. That went surprisingly well. We must have done something right (or wrong depending on your point of view) because it didn't split. It just grabbed onto the rock where I put it worked its foot down deep in the rocks and hasn't budged since. The clowns are bumming out now that their nem is gone. But they'll have to get used to it for awhile because they have to go through hypo-salinity treatment before they can move into the big tank. We had a really bad bout of ich which claimed a few fish before we could get it under control. We had to remove the remaining fish about put them back into quarantine and do a hypo-salinity treatment on them while the main tank lies fallow for eight weeks. Boy do I hate ich.

Otoh the corals seem to be doing great. I'll jus be very happy, or I should say my wallet will be, when I can finally shut down the two smaller tanks. Luckily that day is fast approaching.

The tank looks excellent, how long has it been running?

Thanks. It's been about two months now. I'm really enjoying the stability of having 330 gallons total volume. And my back loves not having to haul 5-gallon buckets all over the place for water changes and refilling ATO's.

Hehe, that's the sad part...between moving the contents of the 46 and 30...and a couple of planned additions...it's full!

And there's still more in the 30 and 46. We have two duncan colonies, a fairly good size frog spawn, a maxima clam, a couple of acros, two pocillipora, a bunch of cap, and one overflow box encrusting Idaho Grape we have to find room for. And that's just the major ones.

I think over time you lose track of just exactly how much coral you've aquired/grown-out until you have to move litterally everything. Then it's "oh my, where are we going to put it all" because everything was so neatly packed in together.

Yeah, there's gonna have to be a frag sale soon.
